Most consulting firms start with a big promise.
We didn’t.
Cornerstone was built out of something much simpler—and much more honest:
the need for practical solutions that actually work in our context.
Too many organizations across Africa don’t struggle because of a lack of ideas.
They struggle because of a gap between strategy and execution.
Plans look good on paper.
But on the ground? Things stall. Systems break. Opportunities are missed.
That’s the gap Cornerstone was created to close.
Where It All Started
We saw it happen repeatedly.
Energy projects that never reached the people they were meant to serve.
Businesses with potential, but no clear structure to scale.
Teams full of talent, but without the tools or systems to perform consistently.
And at the same time, we saw something else:
massive opportunity—especially in clean energy, entrepreneurship, and digital transformation.
Cornerstone was founded to sit right in the middle of that tension—
between what should work, and what actually does.
What We Actually Do (Beyond the Buzzwords)
Yes, we are consultants.
But more importantly, we are problem-solvers who stay in the room until things work.
A big part of our work is in the clean energy space, especially LPG and clean cooking solutions. Not just advising—but helping shape markets, support policy, and guide real implementation.
That means:
- Working with governments trying to expand energy access
- Supporting companies entering or scaling in the LPG market
- Helping design systems that actually reach end users
But we don’t stop there.
We also work with organizations that simply want to become better at what they do:
- Managing projects without chaos
- Building teams that perform consistently
- Using technology in ways that make sense (not just because it’s trending)
Because growth isn’t just about ideas—it’s about execution, systems, and people.
Why Our Work Looks Different
We don’t believe in overcomplicating things.
We don’t come in with 100-slide presentations and disappear.
We ask questions.
We listen.
We simplify.
Then we build solutions that people can actually use.
Sometimes that means strategy.
Sometimes it means training.
Sometimes it means rolling up our sleeves and fixing what’s not working.
And often—it’s all three.
The People Factor (This Is Everything)
If there’s one thing we’ve learned, it’s this:
No strategy works if people don’t.
That’s why a big part of our work focuses on:
- Leadership
- Capacity building
- Entrepreneurship
We invest in people because they are the ones who carry the work forward long after the project ends.
We’ve seen what happens when teams are empowered properly.
Things move faster. Decisions improve. Results follow.
Inclusion Isn’t Optional
In the sectors we work in—especially energy—access and inclusion matter.
Who gets opportunities?
Who is left out?
Who benefits?
We actively work on initiatives that:
- Support women in the LPG and energy space
- Help small businesses transition into cleaner, more sustainable models
- Expand access to clean cooking solutions
Because impact isn’t real if it only reaches a few people.
What We Stand For
We don’t use our values as decoration. They guide how we work every day.
- We tell the truth, even when it’s uncomfortable
- We show up prepared, not just present
- We focus on solutions, not just analysis
- We respect people, at every level
- We stay curious, because things are always evolving
Who We Work With
Our work spans across:
- Government institutions
- Private sector companies
- International organizations
- Training and capacity-building partners
Different clients. Different challenges.
But the same goal every time:
make things work better.
So… Why Cornerstone?
Because we don’t just advise.
We stay with the problem until there’s clarity.
Until there’s structure.
Until there’s progress you can actually see.
No noise. No fluff. No theory for theory’s sake.
Just real work, done properly.
